Trauma- full assessment


Intubation tips:

Cricoid pressure tip:

    Tip head up into sniffing position
    Towels under head
    Check proper depth insertion
       Too deep-right lung only
           Back out 1-2cm
       Perfect depth- both lungs
         Avg. 21-23 cm Adult
       Slowly administer Succucholine (temporary paralysis)- 5 second bursts - a full/direct push will cause Pt to bite down hard and clamp up oral area muscles; administer slowly or difficult airway is gauranteed!!

   Expect a difficult airway and set up for plan-B
     Nasal intubation option, nasal trumpet


CO2 levels-6x full breaths check

Use bite block to stop biting tube

Use surgical restraints from Pt waking up and pulling out tube.
